  • I’ve been very fortunate to help many people catch their first waves. That said, not every camp is ideal for someone stepping into the ocean for the very first time. True beginners need small, forgiving surf, easy paddle-outs, and space to focus on dialing in their paddling technique and timing. Nosara is generally better suited to “advanced beginners” and intermediate surfers who already have a foundation. Tofino, on the other hand, with its more sheltered and tucked-away beaches, can offer first-timers a more supportive environment and a greater chance of early success.

  • You’re welcome to bring your own board, but we do have boards and paddles available if you’d prefer not to travel with gear—I know how challenging that can be. That said, our selection includes only a few sizes, great for that intermediate surfer. For higher-level surfers, I generally recommend bringing the board you’re most comfortable on. A skilled carpenter rarely borrows someone else’s tools—the right equipment makes all the difference.

  • We don’t operate from a single camp house yet. As a young program, we’re working toward a dedicated home base for next season, but right now we partner with a selection of trusted local accommodations in each destination. Those strong local relationships give us access to several great options, so we can match the best-fit lodging to the size and needs of each group.

  • Everything is included except your flights—we’ve got the rest covered. From airport pickup and daily transportation to and from the surf, to a dedicated team preparing incredible meals, we handle the details so you can focus on your experience. We provide high-quality boards if needed, professional coaching, and all the photo and video media from the week. You’ll also have a logistics manager on hand to help coordinate any additional plans or activities you’d like to arrange on your own.

  • Yes, of course—they’re more than welcome to join. They’ll have full access to everything included in the experience, with the exception of equipment and coaching. The cost for this option is $1,000 USD.
