coaching retreats

Progression is the intention behind every retreat we host — not about perfection, but about forward movement. Each session and conversation is designed to help you expand skills, deepen confidence, and return home with tools you can use. Progress here is measured in small wins: a more stable stroke, a braver step into new waters, a calmer breath before dropping in, or a new connection with someone who shares a similar journey. We create supportive coaching, thoughtful, and gentle challenges so your growth feels natural, sustainable, and joyful. Come as you are; leave better than you arrived.

Oso Paddle Surf Retreats chase exceptional waves across handpicked destinations, creating immersive experiences in some of the most inspiring coastlines. While each location brings its own energy and character, our coaching standard never changes. Wherever we travel, you’ll find the same focused, intentional program designed to challenge you, refine your technique, and elevate your surfing in meaningful ways.

What to Expect

Our Structured Progression Program converts years of coaching into a clear, efficient pathway. We sequence techniques and drills so each session builds to the next. For intermediate to advanced paddle surfers, it removes guesswork, speeds learning, and makes progress measurable with targeted lessons, purposeful repetition, and practical feedback—so you ride waves confidently, safer, and with more control.

Structured Coaching

Different locations

Surfing different locations brings a unique energy to each retreat — from the warm, playful waves of Nosara, Costa Rica to the raw, powerful beauty of Tofino, Canada. Each place offers its own rhythm, conditions, and character, expanding your experience as a surfer while deepening your connection to the ocean. No matter the setting, the focus remains on purposeful progression — using the strengths of each location to challenge you, refine your skills, and elevate your performance in new and inspiring ways.

Our groups are intentionally kept small, with a maximum of six surfers. I’ve found that three to six people is the ideal size to ensure quality coaching, individual attention, and plenty of space in the lineup. Keeping the group intimate allows for more personalized feedback, better progression, and a more connected overall experience.

Food and Accomodations

Quality food and comfortable lodging are an essential part of every retreat. We know that where you rest and what you fuel your body with directly impacts recovery, performance, and overall experience. That’s why we carefully select welcoming accommodations and nourishing, high-quality meals — creating a space where you can recharge fully and connect with others in a relaxed, supportive environment.
